The exact date of Jasper Newton ‘Jack' Daniel's birth is unknown, but he was from Welsh and Scottish descent. He started the Jack Daniel's distillery around 1866. During his lifetime the brand grew rapidly, and Tennessee becomes a significant player in the American distilling industry. To me, this Jack is that person from the rougher side of town that made the big time through hard work and perseverance. Confident and well dressed and comfortable in her /his skin.
